According to Facebook’s February 2012 data:

  • 51% of consumers are more likely to buy a product or brand after liking them on Facebook.
  • 80% of consumers are more likely to try new things based on friends’ suggestions made in social media
  • 74% of consumers are more likely to encourage friends to try new products.
  • Social Media is becoming more influential at each phase of the connected world.

Many brands go south pretty soon as their owners have no idea what it takes to build a brand and have a general lack of direction. Those are mostly small start-up brands but many mega brands have their bad days too.

We all know learning from others’ mistakes is one of the fastest way to learn and avoid making the same mistakes of our own.

BRAND FAILURES by Matt Haig is a great read whether to learn new things or just a reminder to us that handles brands of what could go wrong.
